Case Study 1
The client based in Shropshire requested traditional style windows complete with glazing bars to match the period cottage he was renovating. They were also required to comply with building regulations in regards to the window insulation values which meant 24mm double glazing.
Unfortunately to manufacture the window to accept double glazing would have required glazing bars with large sectional sizes therefore making the windows appear awkward.
To alleviate this issue WD developed an external grade MDF cassette which fitted on the inside and outside of the double glazed unit. This in conjunction with “back to back” spaces within the unit gave the impression of glazing bars but with smaller sectional sizes.
